I did not have the priviledge of knowing John; however, I feel as if I did via Sharon. I know he was a good man and will be greatly missed by his loved ones and his community. I pray the Lord will be with his family.

John Wayne was a special young man to my family as we watched him grow up on Elgin Street. He was a blessing to my dad when he would come over to visit after my mother passed away. May God comfort you both in the days ahead.

Sharon and Amie, There are not enough words to express the sorrow or to ease the pain we are all feeling for the loss of John, a good husband, a loving father and who was like a son to me and a brother to Karen. We are all so grateful to have had him in our lives. John was lucky in love and lucky in life. Somehow, he always came through for you when you really needed him. He had a big heart. I have seen John tenderly hold a tiny kitten against that big chest and I have seen him knock a man taller than even he was down on his butt. He was a full spectrum of a man and a human being. Johnny and Frances should be proud of John. For they raised a man who had his heart in the right place, with his family and his friends. So many friends. They are truly a testament to the kind of man he was and to what you two were together. I always said John musthave had the original GPS system inside himself, for he could go anywhere without getting lost. But he also had good instincts. And above all, he had you, his Rock and he had Amie, his pride and joy.
Keep John in your heart, my child, and I know you will always have a smile there. I love you, Mama.

John's funeral was beautiful, from the music selection to the speaker. I'm sure John was looking down at us smiling & thinking this was perfect, just perfect. John was indeed a great guy & an awesome friend. Love you both.
