Michael Doyle Obituary
Dallas, TX - Dr. Michael Vernon Doyle died in his sleep on July 1, 2021 at his home in Dallas, TX. He was born on January 4, 1944 to Vernon and Sammy Doyle in Dayton, OH. He grew up in Nashville, TN and was educated at Montgomery Bell Academy, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, TN. It was in Memphis that he met Catherine Davis Ingram and they were married on June 13, 1970. They remained married until she passed in 2011.
Mike received medical training in Nashville, Atlanta, and Los Angeles before spending two years as an Army surgeon stationed in Germany. Mike and Cathy settled in Dallas in 1978. He practiced Orthopedic Hand Surgery at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas for 40 years. He loved healing his patients, interacting with them, and doing whatever he could to fix what was broken.
He also loved playing basketball, playing tennis, skiing, and travelling. In 2013, he fulfilled a lifelong dream and went on an African Safari with his sons. Most of all, he loved his wife and his boys.
He is survived by his sons, Andrew Ingram Doyle and Davis Foster Doyle, and his little sister Elizabeth Doyle Husband.
A memorial service will be held at East Dallas Christian Church on Thursday, July 8 at 3:30. Masks are encouraged for the unvaccinated, social distancing will also be appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University of Tennessee College of Medicine or any other worthy medical school.
