Mike Mitchell Obituary
Madison, TN
Mike Mitchell - Age 18, a senior at LEAD Academy High School, passed away early Thursday morning, November 12, 2015, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Mike was an all-star in many ways. While he was an outstanding athlete, both on the basketball court and on the football field, he was truly an all-star off the playing field as well. He was known for his loving, caring nature, and people of all ages gravitated to Mike because of his joyous attitude and contagious sense of humor.
Mike's strong Christian faith, coupled with a multitude of loving friends and family, sustained him throughout his four-year battle with terminal cancer. He insisted that no one treat him special or make exceptions for him. He continued his studies at LEAD Academy until his last days, and he was more worried about missing homework assignments (except math!) than he was about his illness.
His courage and confidence served as an example to his family, classmates, teachers, coaches and everyone else who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Linda G. Mitchell; father, Jerome Michael Moore; grandmothers, Annie Moore & Blanche Mitchell; sisters, Angela Mitchell, Tomeka Mitchell, Jessica Moore, Latricia Jeffries & Miatricia Bass; and brother, Jerome Mitchell.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 21, 2015, from 2-7 p.m. at Woodmont Hills Church of Christ, 3710 Franklin Road.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 22, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Woodmont Hills by Steve Johnson "Coach Steve."
Active Pallbearers: Leslie Mitchell, Ricky Mitchell, Brandon Thomas, Devante Ridley, Abdirahman Ahmed, Carlton McAfee, Lennox McAfee, Lamont Campbell & Terry Ewing. Honorary Pallbearers: LEAD Classmates and all Former Teammates.

Mike you will be missed even though we only knew eachother for a short time, but God is with you. I recently lost a family member to lung cancer and my grandmother on my mother's side had breast cancer, but she is doing well now. Mike I know that you are in a better place now and you don't have to fight anymore and someday we will get to see our Father's face.
