Debbie, You do not know me. I am friend from Mikes' past. He and I went to Navy Medical school together and then in 1969 he was my replacement in the the field with Fox 2/5. I am sorry for loss. I was just thinking of him today so decided to look him up and saw this. Again I am sorry to hear of your loss.

My heartfelt condolences to Mike's wife, Debby, his children and other loved ones in his family.
I got to know Mike when I wrote of his love and devotion of golf against all odds. We also shared Vietnam tours.
I was so happy for him when his dreams of playing St. Andrews and to break 80 came true. It was an experience few can claim and no one was more deserving than Mike.
I thought the celebration of his life was one of the best and showed how many friends from all walks of life loved Mike. What an inspiration he was to so many people. As a sports columnist, I felt inadequate whenever I wrote about Mike and his life's story. By all accounts, he should have never made it out alive from Nam. But he had the grit and drive to not only survive, but thrive in his life and that he did.
I will never forget him, especially when I march (we amble) in the annual Nashville Veterans Day parade with other Vietnam vets.
My love and prayers are for those Mike was forced to leave. He's in a better place now. God bless you.

Mike was and is an inspiration to me. The few times I played golf with him I had to try my best to keep up with him. He will be truly missed.

I was so sorry to hear about Mike. I have wonderful memories of him, and your family, from our years at Resurrection - especially as an EYC advisor. God bless you all. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to Mike's family. I played many rounds at Forest Crossing with Mike, a humble true American hero, whom never met a stranger, had an un-paralleled zest for life and kicked my butt every time we teed it up from the wrong (right) side of the ball. You will be greatly missed my veteran brother.
