Virginia Roberts Obituary

Virginia Lynn Roberts

Virginia Lynn Roberts was born January 17, 1959 in Robertson County, TN to the late Paul and Mary Elizabeth Wells Roberts. On Monday, January 26, 2015 her soul returned back to the Creator.

She grew up and attended the Robertson County School System, in which she was a proud graduate of Springfield High School Class of 1977. After graduating, she was employed by Bowling Leather and later employed by Peterbilt Motor Company, Madison, TN for over 26 1/2 years. She was there until the closure of the plant. Lynn was employed by Robertson County Schools in 2011 and continued until she was unable to work.

Lynn was an awesome person, and lived an exciting and miraculous life. She was known everywhere she went for her big smile, her hugs, and her laughter. She loved the Lord, her family, her friends, and anyone she came into contact with. She was just genuine. She always had a pleasant smile, sweet spirit and a generous heart.

She united with Fairview Missionary Baptist Church under the pastor ship of the late Pastor George Wells where she was a faithful and dedicated member of the choir. Lynn later united with Mount Zion Baptist Church where Bishop Joseph Warren Walker III is senior pastor. She was a faithful member of Mount Zion until her health began to fail and she was no longer able to attend.

After the death of her sister, Vicki, she took her niece, April as her daughter and raised her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings: Phyllis, Danny, Vicki, Ronald, Michael, Travis and nephew, Willie Dowlen, Jr. (JR).

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: sister, Elizabeth Ann Roberts (Daniel) Frazier; brothers, Timothy, Donald, and Rayburn Roberts; nieces, Danielle and Tiffany Frazier, LaTronya Roberts, April Dowlen, Damiia Roberts; great-niece, Brooklyn Alexandria Pitts; great-nephew, Marcus DeShawn Allen; aunts, Janie Bowling, Linda Jean Bigsby, Antheia (Melvin) Morrow, Elaine (Charles) Northington, Patricia (Paul) Brooks; foster sisters and loving caregivers, Phyllis Gunn, Antheia and Dortheia Davis, and Tonya Williams; special devoted friend, Gregory Bell; devoted cousin and caregiver, Tequilla Wells; devoted cousins, Charlene Brooks and daughters, Betty Cox, Deborah Smith; devoted friends, Teresa Fort, Robert Moseley, Annette Leavell, Charles Clark, Phyllis Boyd, Bransford Elementary School Staff and Faculty, Peterbilt Motor Family co-workers, entire SHS Class of 1977 and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral Services were Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 1 p.m., at Greater Faith Apostolic Church, with Elder Darryl Taliaferro, eulogy. Burial was in Restlawn Memorial Garden.
