Helma Constantine Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church for Helma Barabin Constantine, 99, who died April 4, 2013 at Courtyard Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be conducted by Rev. La'Sheena Simmons.
Entombment will be in Immaculate Heart of Mary Mausoleum.
A loving mother and grandmother, Helma leaves to cherish and embrace her memories one daughter, Joyce Henson; one son, Ambrose Constantine, Jr., both of Lafayette, LA; son-in-law, Howard E. Lanier of Lafayette, LA; six grandchildren, Michelle Broussard Duhon (Thomas), Kimberly Constantine, both of Houston, TX, Blaine Lanier, Carl Broussard, Traci Broussard Bruno (Marcus) and Alana Lanier Mouton (John), all of Lafayette, LA; five great grandchildren, Kandice Mott of Houston, TX, Kyle Fontenette of Atlanta, GA, Tyler Bruno, Kennedi Mouton and Meagan Bruno, all of Lafayette, LA; niece, Aurolyn Jackson (Willie) of Oakland, CA; two special nieces, Elaine Etienne (Paul) and Mary Ann Arceneaux of Lafayette, LA; a special son, Joseph Whitmyre (Bessie); special friend, Wanda Ginger Charles, all of Lafayette, LA and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ambrose Constantine, Sr.; her daughters, Geraldine Constantine Lanier and Clara Dell Constantine Broussard; grandson, Christopher Ballad Constantine; her parents, Blaine and Clara Barabin; daughter-in-law, Geneva "Gene" Constantine and son-in-law, Clarence Broussard.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Constantine's name to the Clara Constantine Broussard Scholarship Fund at Mallalieu Immanuel United Methodist Church, 2700 Louisiana Avenue, Lafayette, LA 70501.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Syrie Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday at the funeral home from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. and at Covenant United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until time of service.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I remember Miss Helma playing Bridge on Sunday's with my mom(Clara Morrison). She was a sweetheart. She will be missed.
