Thelma Gabriel Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Thelma Gabriel, 81, who died October 19, 2011 at Magnolia Estates.
Services will be conducted by Fr. Thomas James, SVD.
Interment will be in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery.
She is survived by her sister, Gladys Sonnier of Lake Charles, LA; a niece, Maryann Sonnier Lutcher, who is also her Godchild, of Lake Charles,LA; another niece, Vanessa Gabriel Sterling (Howard), who was her caretaker, of Lafayette, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Olivia Gabriel; nine brothers, Wilson, Paul, Ernest, Bertand, Maxie, Curtis, Glen, Clifton and Horace Gabriel; her close and dear friend who was also her sister-in-law, Doris Gabriel and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Wartelle Castille, Jr. and his staff, Magnolia Estates and Staff, Acadiana Support Service, Monica Gabriel and Eric Sterling.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Syrie Funeral Home from 7:00 a.m. until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m.
