Bertha Blumrich Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Hargroder Blumrich, 78, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Port Barre. Interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Nicky Trahan will celebrate the Mass, assisted by Deacon Mitch Hebert. Mrs. Bertha was born in Plaisance and was a resident of St. Francisville. She passed from life on Sunday, Sept. 28, at her daughter's home in St. Francisville. Ms. Bertha was a cashier for many years at K&B drugstore, where she made many friends. She is going to be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Michael Blumrich Sr. and wife Pat Hebert, of Port Barre, Clarence Blumrich Jr. and wife Donna McRae, Gonzales, and Brady H. Barr, Washington Crossing, Pa.; daughters, Sandra Gillen and husband Bill, St. Francisville, Alberta Cousson and husband James E., Opelousas, and Pauline Savoy and husband Larry, Zachary; brother, Raymond Hargroder, Lafayette; grandchildren, Matthew Gillen, Joseph M. Blumrich Jr., Timothy Blumrich, Bryce Savoy, Trey Joseph Blumrich, Troy Scott Blumrich, Christopher Blumrich, Nicholas Blumrich, Trae Killeen, Brandy Blumrich, Lindsey Cousson, Anne Blumrich, Alexis Romero, Elizabeth Blumrich, Mary Catherine Blumrich, Candace Blumrich and Londyn Claire Blumrich; and great-grandchildren, Branden Keele, Lucas Aaron Gillen and Kaleb Roy Romero. Pallbearers will be Joe Blumrich, Matt Gillen, Jacob Blumrich, Bryce Savoy, Trey Blumrich and Troy Blumrich. Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Blumrich, Timothy Blumrich, Nicholas Blumrich and Trae Killeen. Ms. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; A.H. and Estelle Dupre Hargroder Sr.; husbands, Albert Guidroz, Clarence Blumrich Sr. and Irvin Barr; grandchildren, Rebecca Blumrich and Nikki Gillen; and brothers, A.H. Hargroder Jr., Milton Hargroder and Felton Hargroder. Visiting at Sibille Funeral Home, Port Barre, on Tuesday, Sept. 30, was from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation continues in the funeral home on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service.
