Clinton Chenevert Obituary

A loving husband and father, he died at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009. He was born Sept. 3, 1943, in New Roads. He was 66. C.J. enjoyed spending time at home with friends and family and was an avid LSU Tigers fan. He was the owner of Credit Plan of Baton Rouge. C.J. is survived by his wife of 30 years, Toni Ann D'Agostino Chenevert; two daughters, Kimberly Ann Chenevert and Lisa Gerette Chenevert; son, Samuel Gene Chenevert; mother, Ethel Monceret Chenevert; granddaughter, Victoria Lynn Chenevert; sister, Yvonne Chenevert Olinde and husband Joseph; brother, John Larry Chenevert and wife Lee; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Angela and Tommy Guarino and Rose Mary Jeansonne; nieces and nephews, Brian Olinde and wife Fran, Darren Olinde and wife Laura, Carmie Guarino Berry, Geri Guarino, Dr. Louis Jeansonne IV and wife Lindsay, Bryan Jeansonne, Amy D'Agostino, Samuel D'Agostino Jr. and wife Cara; great-nieces and great-nephews, Morgan Olinde and Cooper Olinde, Joseph Berry and wife Lauren, Jamie Berry Purpera and husband Jeff, Jasen Berry, Kate Mechwart, Charles Jeansonne, Isabella D'Agostino and Dominic D'Agostino; and great-great-nephew and great-great-niece, Cruz Bridges and Gianna Purpera. He was preceded in death by his father, Clinton Joseph Chenevert Sr.; sister, Patricia Ann Chenevert; grandparents, Joseph and Julia Chenevert and Felicien and Marie Monceret; father-in-law, Sam F. D'Agostino; mother-in-law, Angie Romano D'Agostino; and brothers-in-law, Samuel D'Agostino Sr. and Dr. Louis Jeansonne III. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy in New Roads and attended LSU. He was an active member of the Krewe of Orion and the first king of the Krewe of Artemis. Visitation at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, Dec. 29, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Mike Collins, celebrant. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Ralph Rock, Brian Olinde, Darren Olinde, Dr. Louis Jeansonne IV, Bryan Jeansonne, Samuel D'Agostino Jr., Joseph Berry and Jasen Berry. Memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or www.stjude.org. Arrangements by Resthaven Funeral Home.

I just heard of CJ's passing today. We were friends in our childhood; and, regret to say that I have not seen him in years. I have many great memories of CJ as we grew up on the same street in New Roads. My prayers out to his family. My friend, rest in peach.
