Faye Fornea Dupuy

1929 - 2024

"For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's." The Lord gave us Faye Fornea Dupuy on Jan. 11, 1929, born to Linnie Stallings and Joseph Russ Fornea in rural Washington Parish in southeast Louisiana. Faye passed away peacefully just a month after her 95th birthday, on Feb. 12, 2024. She left behind memories rooted in love, and reminded us all what it meant to be a humble servant of God. Faye was a graduate of Varnado High School, serving as valedictorian. At a young age Faye developed a lifelong love for reading, particularly fiction, and a love for a gifted storyteller named Joseph Weldon Dupuy Sr., who she later married and together they raised their family in Port Allen, La. Before retiring, Faye was a bookkeeper and a proud part of the 127-year-old story of Kornmeyer's Furniture Company. Faye was the last of twelve siblings and was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon; son, Joseph W. Dupuy Jr (Joey); son-in-law, Willie Alford; and grandchildren, Jamie Alford and Joshua Alford. Faye is survived by her daughter, Dora Alford; son, Ricky Dupuy; daughter-in-law, Linda Dupuy; grandchildren, Jennifer LeJeune (Ron), Jason Alford (Chanda), Jeremy Alford (Karron), Tammy Langlois (Hunter), Brittany Krodinger (Wade), and Lacy Dupuy; and great-grandchildren, Jace LeJeune, Joshua LeJeune, Jamie LeJeune, Devin Eschette, Dylan Eschette, Fisher Langlois, Cody Alford, Kristyn Alford, Zoe Alford, Keaton Alford, and Nora Krodinger. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers include Ron LeJeune, Nolan Dupuy, Gary Dupuy, Jules Lefeaux, Wade Fornea, Rusty Fornea and George Gaudet. Special thanks to Sharon her faithful sitter. Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Port Allen on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 11am until Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm, celebrated by Father Jerry Martin. Entombment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or School.
