Francis Schexnayder Jr. Obituary

Francis "Pedro" Joseph Schexnayder, Jr., of Donaldsonville, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024 at the age of 71. Francis is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Schexnayder; children Jennifer McDowell (Jonathan), John Schexnayder (Mignon), Jason Schexnayder (Jenna), and Justin Schexnayder (Jessica); grandchildren Julie McDowell, Jonathan McDowell, Jeremy McDowell, Kason Schexnayder, Gabe Schexnayder, Carter Schexnayder, Samantha Schexnayder, Poppy Schexnayder and Harrison Schexnayder; brothers Carol Schexnayder (Annette) and Phillip Schexnayder (Marsha). Francis is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Schexnayder, Sr. Francis was a graduate of St. James High School and Nicholls State University. He was retired from Triad Chemical and had a long career in the real estate industry as a realtor, broker, and real estate appraiser. Francis was a veteran of the United States National Guard and was a longtime active member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion. He was a longtime parishioner of Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church where he served in the St. Joseph Society. Francis was the current president of the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Seniors and Lawmen Together (SALT). He also enjoyed his daily breakfast club gatherings with his group of friends. A visitation will be held at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville, LA on June 5, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Inurnment of cremated remains to follow at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church Mausoleum. Father Matt Dupre will be officiating.
