James Delmar Walton Sr.
October 29, 1952 - August 21, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Delmar Walton Sr., 72, of Dundalk, MD, who passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose humor and love left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Edgar Walton and Catherine Lorraine Jarrell, and his devoted wife, Sharron Marie Walton. He is survived by his children, April D. Clan (David), Richard D. VanGosen, James D. Walton Jr. (Barbara), and Robert E. Walton (Katherine); his grandchildren, Amanda L. Starkey, Samantha M. Starkey, Robert J. Starkey, Megan N. Smith, Anne Marie U. Scherck, James D. Scherck, and Ruth M. Walton; and his great-grandchildren, Ashlee N. Howard, Bennett J. Mattingly, and Atlas K. VanGosen Smith.
A proud graduate of Dundalk High School, Jim was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served with honor. After his military service, he dedicated over 30 years to his career as a Building Mechanical Engineer. In his free time, Jim enjoyed playing pool, watching classic TV shows, and admiring the beauty of cars. Above all, he was cherished as the best "PawPaw" anyone could ask for, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love and kindness.
His absence leaves a profound void in our hearts, but his memory will live on forever in the countless lives he touched.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during public viewings on Thursday, August 28 2025, from 3pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, Dundalk, MD.
