In Loving Memory of Najee Baith
October 14, 1941 – June 10, 2025
Today, we gather in love to remember and celebrate the life of a father, son, brother, uncle, and friend — a man who touched each of us in ways words can never fully express.
Najee was so much more than any title could convey. He was a storyteller, encourager, teacher, and mentor. His smile was infectious, and his laughter was unmistakably his own. Even in quiet moments, his strength was undeniable. He had a remarkable way of making others feel seen, heard, and valued — whether through a thoughtful check-in or timely words of wisdom.
Though he is no longer with us, Najee’s light continues to shine. We carry his memory in every story, every lesson, and every echo of his voice. His spirit will guide us, especially in the moments when we need him most.
To lose Najee is to lose part of our foundation. But we will honor him not only through our grief, but also through our joy, our laughter, and our commitment to live fully — just as he encouraged us to do.
Najee Baith departed this life on June 10, 2025, at the age of 83 in Laurel, Maryland. He was born on October 14, 1941, in Demopolis, Alabama, and lived a life grounded in kindness, humility, and love.
He was the beloved son of the late Tomzy Lou Carter Lewis, whose heart and spirit he carried throughout his life.
As a father, Najee found his greatest joy in offering love, wisdom, and unwavering support to his daughters. His legacy lives on through them and through the many lives he touched.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Tomica L. Carter (and granddogs Judah & Gaga) and Najiyah S. Baith; his siblings, Arville Lewis, Jr. (Gloria), Chris Lewis-Cabell (Cliff), and Connie W. Lewis (Niecey); and his step-sisters, Shirley L. Crawford and Voncil L. Little. He also leaves behind a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Najee was preceded in death by his mother Tomzy Carter Lewis, stepfather Arville Lewis, Sr., and sisters Barbara J. Richardson and Diane L. Lawson, along with other cherished family members.
A memorial service to celebrate Najee’s life will be held on:
Friday, June 27, 2025 | 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Highway, Bowie, MD 20715
All who knew and loved Najee are welcome to attend.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace knowing he is reunited with loved ones and resting in eternal grace. His spirit, his laughter, and his love will remain with us always.
