Richard Femiano Obituary

Richard Francis Femiano, age 67, of Sykesville, MD, passed away on Monday April 7, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on September 27, 1957, in Washington DC to Dominic Joseph Femiano and the late Ellen FitzGerald. He was married for 34 years to his wife Jennifer James and was the proud father of two sons, Justin James Femiano and Ethan James Femiano. Surviving in addition to his wife and children are siblings: Patrick, Michael (Claire), Stephen (Valerie), Robert (Ramona), Julia (Perry), Jane, Gia (John), and Daniel (Jennifer) as well as many nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Rick enjoyed spending time with family at his childhood home, The Farm, where many memories were made. Rick was an avid fan and partial owner (one stock) of the Green Bay Packers. Another pastime was enjoying old spaghetti westerns and British sitcoms from his favorite recliner. Richard worked for Howard Country Recreation and Parks for over 40 years. Known for his strong work ethic, creative problem-solving skills (otherwise known as a Femiano Fabrication), witty humor, and a willingness to lend a helping hand endeared him to many. He will be missed. A celebration of life will be held at Schooley Mill Park: 12975 Hall Shop Rd, Highland, MD on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 3pm.
