Paul Miller Obituary

Paul Miller, Jr.

Paul "Petey" W. Miller Jr., "Renegade," loving husband, daddy and brother, 51, of Hortense, Georgia, went to be with Jesus on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, at Southeast Georgia Health System from COVID.

Petey was born in Brunswick, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy Browning Miller and Paul W. Miller; and in-laws, Bill Bryan and Linda Bryan.

He is survived by his wife, who he affectionately called his Sweet Mama and Lady Luck, Margee Bryan Miller; and their daughter, who he loved so much and called her his "Punkin," Hunter Makenzee Miller, of Hortense, Georgia. He is survived by his brother, Christopher Miller of Chicago; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and co-workers.

Petey graduated from Glynn Academy. He worked many jobs: Johnson's Amoco, construction, and as a pipe fitter where he traveled the U.S. His dream was to work at Brunswick Pulp and Paper (Georgia Pacific) just like his dad, Paul, and he achieved that dream in March of 2000, where he was a hired as a pipe fitter millwright at the mill. He also served on the PEO Team with the mill for many years.

Petey was a huge fan of his Georgia Bulldawgs! He loved to go hunting and run fox hounds and compete in puppy and fox hound trials. He met his wife, Margee, at Harrington Tract Hunting Club and they fell in love and enjoyed almost 20 years together. Petey loved animals and had a big heart. Petey was a hard worker and always provided for his family. He loved to have a good time, laugh, tell jokes, was a good"fun raiser" and celebrated life daily with a good whiskey or a Bud Light. He enjoyed fried shrimp and peanut butter cups. Some of his favorite sayings were too inappropriate to write in this obituary but if you knew him, you already know what they are! He had so much faith and he would be the first one to tell you to have some faith and trust in the Lord. I know without a doubt he is listening to a dog race in heaven and once again reunited with his parents and loved ones.

Due to the pandemic, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The outpouring of love and blessings have been so great, that it shows what kind of legacy Petey left! We ask that you donate to his family for their continued care and support in lieu of flowers. When you hear a dog race come October, I hope you smile and think of him as I know he will live on in our hearts forever!

Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, www.edomillerandsons.com, is entrusted with the arrangements.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Petey. He was a ray of sunshine on the darkest of days. I looked forward to Petey stopping by the office with his huge smile. I used to say hey "Tracy" how are you today. His eyes would light up and I think it gave him the big head because Tracy was a big country music performer. That now seems like many years ago but I'll always remember Petey and smile because he made me smile. So sorry for his wife and daughters loss.

My late wife and I kept Petey when he was a little boy. He was a kind and loving little boy . We remember him fondly and his dear mother who made the most wonderful pies. We loved him very much
