Lawrence Smith Obituary

Lawrence Philip Smith, age 73, of Conway, went to be with our Lord on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025.

He was born on Sept. 25, 1951, in Crossett, Arkansas, to Lawrence and Irene Smith.

Phil was a 1969 graduate of Conway High School. He received two degrees, a B.A. and M.B.A. in economics and finance from the University of Central Arkansas in 1975.

He was a financial planner, who worked for several finance companies, which includes IDS for many years.

Phil was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Phil played football, baseball and ran track at Conway High School and at UCA.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman who was a member of Ducks Unlimited.

Phil is survived by his two sisters, Dr. Connie Jean Smith of Nashville, Tennessee, and Susan Irene Smith of Conway.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Conway Regional Medical System and Gentiva Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, between 6-8 p.m. at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. On Saturday, Aug. 23 at 10 a.m., a celebration of life for Phil will be held at Roller McNutt as well. Phil will be buried at 2 p.m. in south Arkansas, at Marsden Cemetery in Marsden, Arkansas.
