David Shick Obituary

David Franklin Shick, 86, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 16, 2023, while a resident of Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville, Pa.
He was born on June 19, 1937, in Brookville, PA to the late Harry Shick, Jr. and Martha (Reitz) Shick. David married Rebecca Weber, who preceded him in passing on April 4, 2016.
He was an avid hunter and archery enthusiast, which led to the founding of Shick Archery in 1959, enduring until the mid-1980's. David was also an active member of the Brookville Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed designing and building as well as being out in nature as much as possible. Prior to his retirement, he worked for many years as a mechanic for Owens-Illinois with his previous employment being with Sylvania Electric Products.

He is survived by three daughters, Darlene (Bill) Himes, Donna (Dick) Beveridge, and Vickey (Bob) Deter; four grandchildren: Brooke Edinger, Ryan Domres, Mike Domres, and Anthony Deter; four step-grandchildren: Emily Himes Stall and Shane Himes; Andrea Wallace and Rebecca Carrier; and six great-grandchildren, Caitlin Domres, Roxann Domres, Jacob Stall, Bennett Stall, Merryn Himes, and Everett Himes.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jennifer Domres and Bradley Fenstermaker.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 1pm to 4pm, at the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA 15825. A memorial service will be held immediately following the viewing beginning at 4pm, also at the funeral home, and officiated by the Rev. Glenn McQuown and Rev. Loren McQueen. Interment will take place at the Roseville-Bethel Cemetery in Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Brookville Volunteer Fire Department, 240 Madison Avenue, Brookville, PA 15825. Online condolences and other information may be found by visiting www.dargyfh.com
