Gloria M. Buhite

1928 - 2021

Gloria M. Buhite, 92, formerly of Buhite Road, Reynoldsville, more recently, the DuBois Village, passed away March 6, 2021.
Born March 22, 1928, in Lucerne, Indiana County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Myrtle (Hunter) Simpson.
Gloria graduated in 1946 from Sykesville High School and the DuBois Business College in 1948. She married Luther P. Buhite at the Bethel Baptist Church in Sykesville in 1948.
She was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church and held many positions over the years, including deaconess, choir member, Sunday school teacher and served on multiple committees.
Gloria, alongside her husband, operated Buhite Dairy Farm for over 50 years.
She was involved with J.C.A.R.C., Camp Friendship, Paradise Sewing Circle, and several farm associations. She was interested in politics and volunteered as a poll worker for many years.
Gloria loved her extended family and is survived by three children: Patricia (David) Edner, DuBois; Terry (Marilyn) Buhite, Reynoldsville; and Cheryl (Luke) Yoas, Hermitage; seven grandchildren: Becky Solada, Eric Edner, Erin Edner, Ryan (Heather) Buhite, Philip (Sarah) Buhite, Leanne (Alex) Buhite-Waring and Nathaniel Yoas; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, a daughter, Diana Louise Buhite, and her only sibling, Benjamin Simpson, Jr.
Friends will be received Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 1-3 p.m. at Lakeside United Methodist Church, 420 First St., DuBois, Pa. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the church with Pastor Brett Dinger officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of Sykesville, Pa. The service will be live streamed. Internment will be in Morningside Cemetery.
Masks and social distancing will be observed.
