Robert Walker Obituary

Robert P. Walker, 88, of Sykesville, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 20, 2025. He was born on June 27, 1937, in Sykesville, the son of Paul E. and Margaret Elsie (Tozer) Walker. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

After graduating from Sykesville High School, Robert served as a radio mechanic in the Air Force from 1960-1964. After being honorably discharged from the service, he learned various trades in the construction business, often working alongside his father.

He was a talented brick and stone mason, master carpenter, electrician, plumber and jack of all trades. Robert retired from Walker & Walker Equipment as a welder in 1999.

Always a modest man, Robert downplayed his immense talents. Over the years, many people commented that he was the smartest person they knew. He was always willing to help others without hesitation and was a favorite uncle in the family, often referred to as "Unc" or "Uncle Bobby."

Robert was especially fond of his John Deere tractors and antique cars.

Robert served as a board member for the Sykesville Memorial Cemetery for over 30 years. He had a keen interest in family history and honoring those who came before him. He was the owner of Walker Century Farm, which had been in his family since 1855.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlotte (Walker) Bell, Maxine (Walker) Frano, one brother, W. Clair Walker; a niece, Peggy Lynn Bell; nephew, Doug Walker and his beloved dogs Dutchie, Frankee and Abby.

Robert is survived by numerous treasured nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by many.

There will be no public visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Burial will be made in Sykesville Memorial Cemetery.

Donations in Robert's memory can be made to the Sykesville Memorial Cemetery, P.O. Box 83, Sykesville, PA 15865.
