Nellie Minton Obituary
AGE: 53 • Millville
Nellie Hope Minton (nee Hitchner), 53, of Millville died at home under the care of hospice on Wednesday afternoon May 21, 2014.
The wife of Dean W. Minton, they had been married for the last 18 years. Nellie was born in Portland, Oregon and was the daughter of the late Lawrence Hitchner and the late Nellie (nee Lake) Hitchner Wingate. A longtime resident of Millville, she lived at her current home since 1996.
She was lead counsellor at Elwyn (The Vineland Training Center) for the last 22 years.
Nellie loved gardening, reading books and her pets.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, David Pew of Millville and Joseph Pew (Anna) of South Carolina, one daughter, Ashley Voll (Tim) of Franklinville, two step-children, Dean and Chelsea, three grandchildren, Abram and Wyatt Pew and Abby Voll, two sisters, Mary McNemar of Alabama and Donna Hitchner of Newport and two brothers, Will Hitchner of Lubbock, TX and John Hitchner of Millville.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Tuesday afternoon May 27th at 2 o'clock.
The burial will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 1 until 2 on Tuesday afternoon.
