Rachael (Paciello) Ciruzzi, 71, of Vineland, formerly of Utica, N.Y., passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, with her loved ones by her side.
Rachael was born on Dec. 24, 1941, in Utica and was the daughter of the late James Paciello and Eva (Talerico) Paciello. She attended Utica schools. In 1960, Rachael married the love of her life, Paul Ciruzzi, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years. Rachael was an avid gardener as well as an outstanding cook and baker. She loved to entertain her family and friends at any time day or night. She also loved to travel, especially to Italy, where she vacationed with her husband in 2005. Rachael was a member of St. Padre Pio Parish and the St. Mary's School Grandparent's Association. She also loved all of the events sponsored by the Italian Cultural Foundation. One of her passions was to cheer on her granddaughters, Lindsay and Lauren, as they played for the Sacred Heart High School Lady Lions softball team. Rachael also enjoyed her Thursday afternoon card games with a very special group of friends.
Besides her husband Paul, Rachael is survived by her devoted daughter, Julie Dwyer and cherished son-in-law, Dr. Thomas Dwyer; her granddaughters, Lindsay Dwyer and Lauren Dwyer, whom she adored, all of Vineland; and a beloved sister, Linda Kozak; and loving brother-in-law, Eugene Kozak of Westmoreland, N.Y. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and two special cousins, Carmel Rose Russo and Mary Rose Scalzo. She also leaves a very special cousin, Sister Lois Paciello, her spiritual adviser. And last, but not least, her little cocker spaniel, Brit-Brit.
Church visitations will be held Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Padre Pio Parish, Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 4680 Dante Ave., Vineland, immediately followed by a funeral Mass. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Pompeii Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice; or to South Jersey Healthcare HospiceCare, P.O. Box 160, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
