James Franklin Murphy

Born: September 6, 1942 | Died: August 15, 2025

James Franklin Murphy, 82, of Maryville went home to be with the Lord, Friday, August 15, 2025. He was a lifelong resident of Maryville who married the love of his life in 1961 and enjoyed 53 years with her before she passed away in 2014. He was employed at ORNL in Oak Ridge for 35 years where he worked as an electrician.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; parents James and Lilly; brothers, Howard, Kenneth, and Lloyd; sisters, Ruth, Mae, and Bernice.

He is survived by his son, Jeff (Joni); grandsons, Jeffrey (Emily) and Dustin; granddaughter, Jenna.

He will be missed by his family but they know he is happy to be reunited with his wife.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Blount County Animal Shelter.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville. No graveside services will be held.
