Claire Orzechowski Obituary

Montville - Our beloved Claire C. Orzechowski of Uncasville, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, at the Groton Regency, where she had been a resident for the past year.

Claire was born in Fall River, Mass., on Nov. 22, 1925, to Anna and Ernest Morin. In 1927 as a young girl, Claire moved to Willimantic with her family. She attended St. Mary's School and upon completion went on to work at American Thread.

On June 19, 1948, she was united in marriage to Ted Orzechowski, and they moved to Fitch Hill Road in Montville, where they raised their family for 64 years. She kept an impeccable home, kept her family well fed, to the point of putting her own needs aside for others. Her other passions were knitting, crocheting, word search books, and her cats kept a smile on her face. To help support her family when Ted was out of work, she began working at Ortronics, and worked there over 30 years until their closing forced her to retire at 78!

Claire was predeceased by her loving husband, Ted, just 5 months ago on April 26, 2015. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Rosario and Laurent, and sisters, Jeanne Kolesnick and Lillianne Iverson.

She is survived by daughter, Lillian Cooper and her husband, Al; sons, Richard and his wife, Susan, and their sons, Nick and Adam, son, Michael and his wife, Pat, son, James and his wife, Lisa, and their sons, Kyle and Brett. She also has two great-grandchildren, Claire and Bennett Fox Orzechowski. She is also survived by her brothers, Andre and Norman, and her sister-in-law and dearest friend, Helena Molochko, as well as cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Orzechowski family would like to thank the entire staff at the Groton Regency for the loving and attentive care shown to Ted and Claire.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, 53 Norwich New London Tpke. (Route 32), Uncasville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, in St. John's Church, 22 Maple Ave., Uncasville. Burial will follow in St. Patricks Cemetery, Uncasville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to St. John's Church.

May my dear Aunt Claire rest in peace with her husband and siblings. She and my mom were very close. They both loved their kittens and cats. It was a mutual bond between them. For many years they talked on the phone everyday @ 6:30 PM. As a child I remember all being together as a family. God rest her soul.

Love you Aunt Claire,
Debra and Greg Dzialo
