Crystal Molina Obituary
She was born in Riverside, Calif., on Sept. 10, 1987, and moved to Ledyard in January of 2000.
She is survived by her mother, Naomi Rodriguez; fathers, Maik Schuler and Elias Molina; and her brother, Aidan.
Crystal was a senior at the University of Connecticut, Storrs and was an individualized major, Agriculture/Latin Studies.
She loved to interact in stimulating, intellectual conversations and working on farms with animals, which she found non-judgmental. She loved to travel both domestically and abroad to Europe and to Mexico. She was passionate about social justice, environmentalism, Latin American studies and issues. She loved reading, writing, teaching at the UConn Writing Resource Center, gardening, and driving her white bug. Crystal enjoyed photography and would give her closest friends her photos. Crystal looked forward to events; she loved going to concerts, Devotchka, Wolf Parade, Modest Mouse, Animal Collective, and Carlos Santana. Crystal was a master of organizing shows, loved movies, reading movie reviews, and would buy many movies, Wet Hot American Summer, Twilight Movies, Little Miss Sunshine, and Scrubs.
Cursy just liked to be around people and have fun. Her spirit touched many lives. She will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved her. The world has no idea what a great woman stood before them.
The family will receive friends in Crystal's honor from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 3, followed by a service at 1 p.m. at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, 51 Williams Ave., Mystic. Additional funeral services will be held in California at the convenience of the family at a later date.

Your bug is still running and has saved us when there was a flood here in CT. Maik's car was a total loss and my car had to be repaired. Believe it or not, your old car was the only car that was working. Maik is still driving it to work! I love you, thank you for keeping an eye out for us and helping us in our time of need. Dear Naomi and Elias,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. How can we forget Crystal? She was best friends with our niece Fiorella and we have had lots of good times together. I remember taking them to Knotts Berry Farm and letting them loose on the wild rides while Fiorella's younger sister Andrea and I went for the slower rides. Little did I know that they had turned off the extra cellphone that I had given them so that I wouldn't be able to check on them. Cyrstal was very driven and full of life and we remember how much she loved shopping at Anthropology. We will miss this beautiful young lady:(

My dearest cousin Crystal. My heart aches to know that you are no longer here with us. I will keep all our memories in my heart. I remember when we used to babysit you everyday with Abraham. My brother and I had spent an entire day making small boxes with bubble gum in them and wrapping them to put under a mini X-mas tree in my room. When we came home the next day we were so mad to find that you and Abraham had opened each and every one of them and eaten every bubble gum. You must have been 3 or 4. All you guys left was the evidence, which was the wrapper all over the floor and my desk! I would have never thought that that would have been one of the funniest memories of you as a child. I remember having you in my Quinceanera. You came out with Abraham ringing bells right before I came out. I remember you coming down about a year ago and you making sure we spent time together. You will be missed my dear cousin. My prayers go out to Naomi and her family as well as Primo Elias and our families. There is peace in my heart knowing we will see each other in heaven on that glorious day! I love you Crystal.

Crystal was a very passionate, hard working young woman. I had not known Crystal for very long but we became friends fairly quickly and I wish I had gotten to know her much more.
