Louis Thomas "Lou" Leverone

Epping, N.H. - Louis Thomas "Lou" Leverone, 76, of Epping, N.H., passed away May 17, 2024. He was born Feb. 26, 1948, in Boston, Mass., to loving parents, Jean and Louis, who preceded him in death. Lou retired to New Hampshire after spending much of his life in Old Lyme, Simsbury, and New London.

Lou was known for his intelligence, integrity, and cheerful disposition. As a child, he spent many summers on the family farm in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Lou served in the Navy on Guam from 1969 to 1971 and later, after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, enjoyed a successful career as an Account Manager at Computervision and Sun Microsystems.

His passion for sailing led him to the Thames Yacht Club in New London, where he was a member for several decades. He enjoyed racing in the Wednesday night series, crewing for friends during Off Soundings, or simply cruising the coast of New England. Lou obtained his Merchant Marine License so he could drive the yacht club launch where he always greeted fellow sailors with a warm smile.

Lou is survived by his wife, Helene Morris; his daughter, Kristin Leverone; stepson, Jon Morris, his wife, Haleigh and granddaughter, Mackenzie; as well as stepson, Andrew Morris and his wife, Kayla.

A special thanks to the Benchmark at Rye, doctors, nurses, and aides who loved and cared for Lou like family. We are forever grateful for your compassion and support.
