Maria Mastroianni Obituary

Hamden - Maria Diglio Mastroianni, 77, formerly of Hamden and Branford, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, in Italy with her family by her side.

She was the beloved wife of the late Marzio Mastroianni. Maria was born in Santa Maria a Vico, Province of Caserta, Italy on May 30, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Antonio and Vincenza Scarano Diglio. Maria had worked for the former Strause-Adler Company of New Haven and along with her family operated M & M Farms of Branford.

She was the mother of Joseph Mastroianni (Irina), Annamaria DeLucia (Salvatore), Antoinetta Mastroianni and Antonio Mastroianni (Shaun); sister of Giuseppe Diglio (Amelia), Giuseppina Palmieri, Carmela Diglio, Vincenza Calcagno (Vincenzo), Yolanda Perri (Santino) and Domenico Diglio. Maria is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec, 28, in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 260 Cochituate Road #200, Framingham, MA 01701.

Interment was in Italy.
