Mick KRIER

Age 67, of Chicago, IL Formerly of South St. Paul died unexpectedly on October 2, 2014. A 1965 graduate of Cretin High School, Mick entered the military Special Forces in 1966. After a long military career, he started a second career in law enforcement with the Park Ridge, IL Police Department. He married the love of his life, Nancy Carlson, in Viet Nam in 1972 and started a 42 year adventure. Still in touch with his many high school and college friends, he made regular trips home to play in the Cretin Alumni "Raiders" golf outings. He never broke 80, but did get a hole in one at Okeeheelee GC in Florida. Mick and Nancy had two sons, Andy Krier of West Palm Beach, FL; and Zachary Krier of Chicago, IL. Preceded in death by parents Andrew & Rosemarie (nee Hess) Krier. Also survived by siblings, Tom (Carole), Jonathan (Laurie), Kip (Debbie), of SSP; Annie (Mike) Sinesio of Ely; lifetime friend of 60 years, Tom Braun of Mendota Heights; and scores of relatives and friends. Mick's cremated remains will be interred with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Ellwood, IL on November 14, 2014 at 2PM. A Celebration of Life will be held later that day at a place to be determined. Memorials preferred to the Cretin-Derham Hall Scholarship Fund or Vietnam Veteran's Memorial.
