Rose Brasel Obituary
After the birth of her sons in Florida, she accompanied Vern as a devoted Navy wife to Middle Grove, N.Y. before settling in Ledyard, where they made their home and gardens.
Rose Marie was a founding member of St. Luke Lutheran Church of Gales Ferry, where she happily served on the Altar Guild for many years.
She was a devoted mother to Kenneth (Joanie) and Daniel (Susan). She is also survived by grandchildren: Sean, Kylie Shaffer (Tim), James, and Ryan. Much to her delight, she welcomed great-grandsons, Cian, Benedict, and David Shaffer. Mr. Rogers once said, "One of the greatest dignities of humankind is that each successive generation is invested in the welfare of each new generation." Rose Marie's investment in her family, while both gentle and sincere, was priceless.
Please join us between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a Celebration of Life Saturday, Oct. 25, at St. Luke's.
