She was employed at Gabrielle's Karate and Kick Box in Waterford. She loved the spiritual discipline of her job, and her heart was in every move, especially when working with the children, whom she adored. She was a nursing student at Three Rivers Community College, where she recently earned High Honors status and made the dean's list. Sierra was a lover of nature, and many of the gifts she gave were often handcrafted from objects found while out exploring. Her lovely, gentle and kind spirit will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.
Sierra is survived by her mother, Cathy Giorgi, and father, Charles Ryan, both of California; dad, Lyle Crawford, of Fallbrook, Calif.; her son, Foster Ryan McCutcheon, whom she loved with all her might; and her long time companion, Ethan McCutheon, of Waterford, with whom she was very close, and his family.
Relatives include Auntie Dr. Mimi George, Uncle Mario George, Grandmother Jeanne George and her Ohana in the Islands; her brother, Blake Crawford; and sisters, Sheena Ryan and Trinka Giorgi, all of California. Dear friends include Master Gardener Tom Cornick, of New London, Lissa and Sara Conway, from Fallbrook High School, Liz and Dave Sunshine and family, of Lyme, and many to whom she was a beacon of light, love and hope.
The family wishes to graciously thank the Town of Waterford Police Department and the State Police for their diligence, sympathy and unwavering dedication.
A get together in her memory will be held at Harkness Memorial State Park Amphitheater in Waterford at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Sierra loved potlucks, so please bring a lot of your favorite dish.
Burial will be private. Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, New London is handling the arrangements. See www.mem.com for photos and online tributes.
The family requests that donations be made to the Sierra Giorgi Memorial Fund, c/o People's Bank, 117 Boston Post Road, Route 1Waterford, CT 06385-2400 in lieu of flowers.

So many wonderful thoughts, beautiful remembrances, and everlasting love for Sierra I feel the same as everyone who signed this guestbook. I was touched by her grace and spirit. Sierra's smile is forever etched in my memory. I believe that she walks and talks with Foster spiritually every day of his life, and even finds time to visit the people who loved her dearly. As much as I wish she was still here with us I know I will see her again when it is my time to go home.
Sierra you are truly missed by our family and not a day has gone by that we don't think of you and pray for your family. Foster will be FOSTERED by all of us, I think you know that. God be with you and all who have taken the time to sign this guest book. In the name of Thy Father, Thy Son and Thy Holy Spirit, Amen.

I was truly saddened to hear of the loss of Sierra. I went to Fallbrook High with her. Although we were not close friends, I knew her from hanging out and things. I was reading the local San Diego paper online, and read the terrible news. As soon as I saw her name, sadness overcame me. I remember her fom drama club, and how beautiful and nice she was. My heart goes out to her family, especially her little boy. I am a mother of 3, and couldn't possibly imagine how hard this must be for him. You are all in my prayers, and Sierra, may you rest in peace. You will never be forgotten my friend.

Sierra was a beautiful person and loved her son with everything she had. When she walked into the room his bright smile shone even brighter. May her memory remain with him forever and bring that smile to his face when he recalls her devotion and love.
May God bless Foster and all of Sierra's family and friends in such a tragic time. Take comfort in knowing that an entire community shares in your loss and our prayers will forever be with you.
Our condolensces,
