Wayne Hamler Obituary
Wayne attend local elementary schools in New London. He graduated from Norwich Technical High School and later from the former Thames Valley Community College. He began his career at Electric Boat in 1984. He was currently working as, manager of program planning.
Wayne was a very friendly and outgoing person; he was loved by many, and will be forever missed. He was and avid fitness guru and weight lifter. He was a very meticulous and organized individual and kept an impeccable lawn and garden.
He is survived by his beloved son Matthew Hamler and companion Regan Torres of Waterford; and his former wife Andrea Hamler of New London; he adored his three grandchildren, Mateo, Faith and Eliyas; his two siblings, Paul Hamler Jr. of Quaker Hill, and Tracy and Jay Killin of Pennsylvania.
His family will receive relatives and friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Family and friends are to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday, July 15, in St. Joseph Church, New London. Interment is in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

I first met Wayne when we were in college in 1981. A group of us would sit in the library after classes, giggling and having fun while we did our homework. Years later we met again at EB. I was so happy to see someone nice like Wayne achieve success in his career. I last saw him in the grocery store six months ago, or so and he looked so healthy and happy. This is a very sad day for everyone who knew Wayne. Prayers for his family.

I am sorry to hear of Waynes passing. I knew him from working at EB and as a customer at Barry´s Cleaners when I worked part time. He was always so kind, friendly and happy. He loved his family so much. He will be missed.

It is so shocking, and unbelievable right after all of the happy pics, videos and joyful posts about your new twin grandchildren...who were born a few days after my first grandchild. Shared euphoria.
Wayne, I've known you my whole life. Our parents went way back. I cannot remember a time I didn't know you. And I'll never forget you.
I know with your strong Faith, you were greeted by Jesus and welcomed in the warmth of the face of God while holding your Mom and Dad's hands once again.

It is difficult to find words regarding the loss of this beautiful life.
My heart and my thoughts go out to all other family members and friends during this time and forever on.
Wayne was one of the great ones. While his presence will be dearfully missed and his absence mourned, my wish is that we may all find comfort in knowing that he is now in a better place, and although it was tragic, I choose to believe that he passed away happy, and he will forever go down in history as one of the kindest, most genuine and compassionate souls I ever had the privilege of knowing.

Your spirit is present, and your soul cherished. I will miss seeing your kind eyes and smile, hearing your voice, and our hugs whenever I visited in Waterford.
