Sadly, I must share that on Monday, June 15th my mother decided to answer her telephone.......God was on the other end and invited her to join him, and all those friends and family who have passed previously. After an heroic five days, hospitalized, she suffered a heart attack. Due to covid we weren't able to be with her, which is the most horrific experience I wouldn't wish upon anyone. Not being able to sit by her bedside, not being able to hold her hand and reassure her, this is truly the sadness of this horrible virus. Our last physical contact was as she was wheeled onto the ambulance. Fortunately, due to the kindness of the Eisenhower staff, Eva, the Unit RN caring for mom, we were able to talk with mom once or twice a day. Our last call was brief, but mom was able to wave and blow us kisses all while struggling to breath thru pneumonia. Without a doubt my brother and sister and I could not have had a better mom. She outlived all of her friends and three husbands, and in the end, was a survivor herself, managing to raise her children, work full time, be a mentor, a friend, a mom, a grandmother and a great grandmother! Funeral services were Tuesday, June 23rd. Following a Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Palm Desert she was buried next to her Mother and Father at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. Please bear with us thru this loss. Our hearts are broken. RIP Mom. We Love you and Miss You Horribly!
