Jeanne Muñoz Obituary

Jeanne E. Muñoz

Aug. 19, 1938 - Sept. 10, 2016

Jeanne was born in Pasadena, Ca. on August 19, 1938 to Robert Woodrow and Beryl Emmerling. She passed away on September 10, 2016 in Indio, Ca. due to terminal liver cancer. She passed peacefully and comfortably in her home surrounded by her girls. Jeanne moved to the Coachella Valley as a young girl and graduated from CV High School in 1956. Jeanne married her high school sweetheart, Robert "Bobby" Muñoz in 1957 and had three daughters, Renée, Robin and Rachelle.

Jeanne worked for Desert Sands Unified School District for over 20 years as a school secretary. She enjoyed family vacations and spending time with her good friends and neighbors. She had a lot of fun with her role as Mother and Nanie (grandmother).

Jeanne is survived by her daughters Renée (Ruben) Ruvalcava, Robin (Rodney) Slagle, Rachelle (Eric) Kochis; grandchildren Brittnee (Jimmy) Spyrs, Reanna, Alexandra, Chad, Marielle and Caymus. She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby, who recently passed on July 18, 2016; her parents Robert Woodrow and Beryl; sister Gayle.

Jeanne did not wish to have any formal memorial service. The family wishes to send heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Family Hospice Care for their support and compassion towards their mother this last month.

To Renee, Robin, and Rachelle:

The losses you have recently suffered are immense. It seems yesterday I would ride my tricycle to your door and ask Jeanne if Renee could come out and play. Both your parents are a huge part of my childhood memories and always bring a smile to my face. I know the passing of Ruben's sister has also impacted the family.
I am so sorry and will always remember. I send my thoughts and memories ...I know nothing eases the loss but ....
Dan Curry (but written by Patty because he's not very good with that part, but you can see he means it in his face.)

Dear Renee', Robin and Rachelle,
Our hearts go out to you ladies in the passing of your Mother. I grew up watching your Mom when she dated your father. What a lovely couple. The Munoz family lived right across the street and we loved the Munoz family. She was always with a smile and she will be deeply missed.
With sincere sympathy.
