Not only did you inspire me to become an independent man, but you taught me that if I didnt stop to look around and appreciate the value of life I would never truly love life. A mentor, a friend, and the best grandfather ever. I miss you more everyday. I love you.

I will never forget years ago, going for Friend NE to visit Grandma Redman and Uncle John and Aunt Neva would come to visit Memorial week-ends. I loved to listen to Uncle John's stories and hear him laugh. Uncle John, you will be missed so much. I love you. When you see my Grandpa and Grandma Marcum, give them a hug from me. Have a wonderful journey. Love Always, Sharon

Even though Johnny was my cousin, I often thought of him as "One of My Funny Uncles." If you ever needed cheering up, you could go to Johnny. My best times with him were at the Redman reunions about 45 years ago held at Frank & Cora's house in Friend, Nebraska. I will always remember you with a smile, Johnny. Thanks. My prayers for Neva and the family are constant. See you later.
Love, Sandie Gibson-Birlauf

I was very fortunate to have such a caring and loving uncle. I have very fond memories growing up and enjoying all Uncle John had to offer. I definitely will never forget the times at Russian River. I cannot remember a single time when Uncle John was ever upset about anything. He was truly a wonderful man and will surely be missed by all that knew him.
