Norma Jack Gallivan (Bennett) passed away, on Saturday August 13, at Eisenhower Hospital, Rancho Mirage Ca., after a long illness.

Her passing was peaceful, as her husband, Quentin Gallivan held her hand, as she was slipping to the other side.

Norma Jack was born 8/24/1928, in a farming community of Altus, Oklahoma. Her siblings were Douglas, Billye and Dorothy. Her formative years developed as the family moved to Mangum, Oklahoma. There, her personal perseverance and strengths, became the cornerstone for her future life experiences. These radiated through her two sons, Quentin Gallivan Jr., San Francisco, Kevin Gallivan MD, Granada Hills, and her daughter, Megan Gallivan, Granada Hills. The same strengths are seen through her grandchildren, Liam, Maxwell and Arabella. Her daughter-in-law, Sarah was her continuing best friend.

Norma Jack received her Masters degree in Sociology at the University of Tulsa. Shortly after, she entered the developing airline industry as a stewardess with American Airlines. The hometown of Mangum, gave her a going away party, for being the first in Western Oklahoma to become an airline stewardess.

She married Quentin Gallivan in December 22, 1956, as he was in his graduating year from UCLA.

In her child-raisng years, Norma Jack could be seen as Den Mother; Little League baseball official scorer; and as a patron of the Lauderdale Lakes Baton Twirling Team.

Her marriage and children took her and her husband to locate in Cleveland, Chicago, Ft Lauderdale, Santa Ana and the city of Orange. After Quentin's retirement, in Rancho Mirage, Ca., Norma Jack and Quentin along with Kevin and Megan made a total of 13 cruises to many places, around the world.

Norma Jack will leave a shining light of love to all she has touched, in her lifetime ..
