Benito Garza Obituary
Benito "Benny" Garza II, 22, of Bryan, passed away Saturday, February, 2, 2008 by a tragic motorcycle accident.
Benny was a Fighting Texas Aggie and was to graduate in May. He was a member of Christ's Way Baptist Church and was so strong in faith that he chose to be baptized in 2002. Benny was a past Young Life leader and worked with kids in Bryan/College Station and Caldwell. Benny was a loving son, brother, grandson and loyal friend. He was a young man of great faith whose hero was Jesus Christ. Benny was a very outgoing, positive young man whose ultimate dream was to become a professional body builder.
We are all very blessed to have known Benny. In his time here on earth, he touched everyone that he ever met and always made you smile. Benny made us all so very proud, we love him and we will miss him beyond words.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Christ's Way Baptist Church 3885 Copperfield Drive, Bryan, Texas, 77802. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hillier Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bryan, Texas.
Benny was preceded in death by his father, Benito Garza on July 12, 1992. Survivors include his mother, Norma Tijerina; stepfather, George Lopez; brother, Enrique "Ricky" Garza; stepbrothers, Christopher and Michael Lopez; grandparents, Maximo and Erlinda Tijerina, Baldemar and Lidia Garza; aunt, Irma Tijerina; uncles, Maximo Tijerina, Jr., Otto Tijerina, J.B. Garza, Bernardo Garza, Albert Garza, Robert Garza, Ruben Garza and Roy Garza; numerous cousins and many, many friends, and special friend, Amanda Delaney.

I just learned of Benny's death this morning from a Silver Taps e-mail. Benny was a student in my class at A&M. He was a remarkable young man. Please accept my deepest condolences on your tragic loss.

Your precious child was lost right in front of me. I live in the townhome where it happened. I saw you being comforted by Msgr. John, and I told him I too lost a son and daughter in love in an accident 17 years ago I want to make myself available to you. As a Mother who has walked where you are walking it might help. Benny you touched so many peoples heart just with your smile!! To Benny's Family:
I cannot tell you the impact that your son's life has had on all that have come in contact with him in his short time on earth, but I'm sure that in the past few days you have witnessed and heard the amazing stories and truths of what a blessing he was to everyone who knew him. I met Benny in 5th grade and we were friends through high school and college. It is truly tragic to have lost him, but it would have been worse to have never had him as a friend. Benny, I've been thinking alot about you the last couple of days. I know we didn't know eachother very well, but you were such a great friend to John and all the other guys that I have always felt of you as my friend. I did not know Benny but reading this article I just felt the need to write and tell you how sorry I am for your loss. It seems he was such a wonderful young man. I knew his Uncle Otto - a very long, long time ago - he was a nice young man too so I am not surprised that he is kin. Benny seeing you at Gatsbys and reminiscing about the elementary days of when you came to Sul Ross not even a month ago were good times.You asked me if I remembered giving you a piece of gum at Sul Ross when you were new you said that meant alot to you. You were always nice to me, you said your body had changed so much in you gaining weight for your body building and that mine had too by losing so much for my music.
