Clinton Lynn Obituary

July 4, 1927 – August 16, 2007

Clinton LaVon Lynn, 33 Degree Mason, lost his 3 month battle with cancer on Thursday, August 16, 2007. He was born on July 4, 1927 in Shellknob, Mo., to Clarence W. Lynn and Alma Bradley Lynn. Mr. Lynn was an electrical contractor before his retirement and was also former owner of Broadway Electric in Galveston, Texas. He had been a resident of Robertson County for more than 30 years previously living in Galveston. He attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Bryan, Texas.

Mr. Lynn was a retired member of Local No. 527, I.B.E.W. and a veteran member of the National Electrical Contractors Association. He is a past presiding officer of the following Masonic Bodies, Harmony Lodge No. 6, AF&AM, Galveston, Thrice Elustrious Master, High Priest and Commander of San Felepe De Austin No. 1, Galveston. Past Potentate of El Mina Shrine Temple, Galveston. He was a 50-year member of all Masonic Bodies anda member of Scottish Rite and past director of the Royal Order of Jesters, Waco. Past Patron of Franklin No. 311 Order of Eastern Star. Also, he was an Endowed Member of all Masonic Bodies. He served as District Deputy Grand Master, District 24, Grand Lodge of Texas, in 1985. Member of Tri County Shrine Club, Buffalo, Texas. Member of the Order of Hillbillies, Waco. He served for six years on the Shrine Burns Hospital as Treasurer, in Galveston.

He was a former member of Galveston Rotary Club and Sertoma Club, a life member of the Knight Templar Eye Foundation and 100 Million Dollar Club, El Mina Shrine, Galveston and a contributing member of the Scottish Rite Childrens Hospital, Fort. Worth. He was a 30 year member of Brazos Valley Model A Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Billy C. Lynn, and son, Clinton LaVon Lynn Jr., in 1972.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Cram Lynn of New Baden, Texas; two daughters, Alma Lynn Bane and husband, Dr. Charles W. Bane, of Stephenville and Sandra Ann Lynn of Franklin; four sisters-in-law, Sylvia Johnson of Texas City, Jerrie Cram of Galveston, Clara Cram Adair of La Marque and Francis Cram of California; six granddaughters, Greta Bane Hecker of Hewitt, Texas, Deborah Bane Farnsworth of Granbury, Texas, Cynthia Bane Coats of Aubrey, Texas, Molly Freed of Mauriceville, Texas, Mandy Gail Lynn of Franklin, Texas, and Kriste Lynn Hoelter of Mauriceville, Texas; one grandson, Christopher Lynn Kaemmlein of Franklin, Texas; one great-granddaughter; eight great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 18 at McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, Texas. Howard Vann will officiate. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials made be made to the charity of choice or the Hospice Brazos Valley.
