Jason Lively Obituary

April 28, 1974 - September 1, 2018

A Celebration of Life for Jason Lively will be held on Wednesday, September 5th, 2018 at 6pm at The Barn BCS Event Venue, 3939 TX-47, Bryan, TX 77807. Jason H. Lively left this world with his family by his side on September 1, 2018 after developing a sudden and unexpected brain bleed. Despite his thick skull, his brain suffered injuries from which he could not recover. He was surrounded by his friends and family, who had the privilege of saying their goodbyes to the most wonderful husband, father, son, and friend that one could ever hope to know.

He was born on April 28, 1974 in Newport, Rhode Island and moved to Texas with his Mom when he was 3. As a child he enjoyed hunting squirrels, which he continued to be distracted by…squirrel! in adulthood. Hunting turtles was also a favorite activity in his youth, as was the turtle soup that came after the hunt. Jason would put his entire life on hold to serve a friend in need. Friends were his passion, along with hunting, any type of weaponry (though foam nun-chucks were known to get the best of him), and all types of music from hard core rock to jazz. He loved turkeys, staying up late, procrastinating followed by bursts of focus, and carrying a dish towel on his shoulder at all times. He had a way of making everyone feel special. Calling the ladies 'darlin' and the men 'brother' in a way that you could never doubt his love. He gave huge hugs and enormous amounts of love. Above all else in life that he enjoyed-the absolute paramount was his wife and kids.

Jason is pre-deceased by his brother, Robert; and dad, Thomas E. Lively. He is survived by his wife, Casey; children, Ian (22), Gavin (17), Carly (16), Cormac (5), and Coda (10 months); mom, Dale; sister, Heather; his mother-in-law, Dusty; brother-in-law, Nico; also, by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends stretching from Alaska to Texas.

His passion for helping others will continue by giving a second chance at life through his gift of organ and tissue donation. During this difficult time the Lively family has been supported by so many friends and family-the ladies in Junior League of BCS came together and created a meal train, an immediate needs sign up, and constant support.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jason's honor to: Southwest Transplant Alliance (Southwest Transplant Alliance, 5489 Blair Rd. Dallas, TX 75231, In Memory of Jason Lively, for the Donor Memory Garden) or The Junior League of Bryan College Station (https://www.jlbcs.org/?nd=donate_summary).

*We appreciate the Trevino-Smith Funeral Home for supporting organ and tissue donation. *
