Joel Dixon Obituary
Joel Brian Dixon, 38, of Bryan passed away on Friday, March 26, 2010, at his residence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, at Hillier Funeral Home. Services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Hillier Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.
Joel was born on April 21, 1971, in McKinney, Texas, to Arthur Edwin and Nita (Fontenot) Dixon. He graduated from Bryan High School in 1989, where he held state and national titles in gymnastics. He was employed at Tom Light Chevrolet in Bryan.
He was an avid video-gamer; he loved to travel and go to the movies. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and for loving life. He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Survivors include his daughter, Courtney Jayde Dixon; mother, Nita Fontenot of Caldwell; father and stepmother, Arthur and Donna Dixon of Bryan; brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Patricia Dixon of Del Rio, Texas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jennifer and J.D. Cochran of Austin and Diana and Danny Brooks of Leesville, La.; grandmother, Eunice Williamson of Pine Prairie, La.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aggieland Credit Union for the Courtney Dixon College Fund.
