Dennis Bowne Moore was born May 10, 1942 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. ÊHe earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bellarmine College in Louisville, Kentucky. ÊHis career in food service management brought him to Bryan-College Station in 1982, where he worked at Texas A&M University until his retirement in 1994.
ÊÊOn August 10, 2005, Dennis passed away after a most valiant fight with cancer, heart disease and respiratory difficulties. ÊHis love of his family, his joy of living, positive attitude and enthusiastic spirit is a precious memory to all. ÊThe delight he took in volunteering in the community upon his retirement will always be remembered and cherished.
ÊÊDennis was active in the Bryan Breakfast Lions Club, the Bryan Elks Lodge, where he served in many leadership positions and was on the board of Keep Brazos Beautiful. ÊHe was a member of the Army National Guard.
ÊÊDennis was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Dennis and Lucille Bowne Moore, and by his sister, Jacqueline Barnes. ÊDennis is survived by his wife, Mary Kaye Moore of Bryan, son Patrick Dennis and wife Elizabeth Ylitalo Moore of Bryan, son Brian Charles and wife Kerri Sells Moore of Spring, son Christopher Bowne Moore and girlfriend Nicki Prince of College Station, mother-in-law Marcella Hahn and four grandchildren.
ÊÊThe visitation will be Friday, August 12, 2005, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. ÊA rosary conducted by Monsignor John Malinowski will be said at 7:00 p.m. ÊA memorial service will be held for Dennis Bowne Moore at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan. ÊMonsignor John McCaffrey will be officiating. ÊA private family burial at Mt. Calvary will follow. ÊIn lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to Hospice ÊBrazos Valley, the Brazos Valley Chapter of the American Cancer Society or Keep Brazos Beautiful.
