Reube Faye Cross, 86, of Caldwell, passed away August 6, 2011. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Caldwell, with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell.

A visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, August 8, 2011 in the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel.

Reube was born May 2, 1925 to James Sanford Teague and Jennie Mae (Farmer) Teague in Caldwell. She married Mervin (Bud) Cross on January 24, 1948 in Caldwell.

Reube faithfully worked at Bud Cross Ford for over 60 years, playing an active role in day-to-day operations. She even ensured the monthly statements were finished last week before she was called home.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James Tolan and Cindy Cross of Caldwell; daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Ronnie Smith of Caldwell; grandchildren, Jennifer and Scott Reames, Jerry and April Smith, Kelsey and Damian Ferguson, J.T. and Luz TenEyck, Kelley and Caleb Crane, Christopher TenEyck, Candace Cross, Daniel and Leah Cross; and great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Savannah Reames, Addison Crane, Ava Smith and Rylan Cross.

I lived in Caldwell for ten years, leaving in 2010. Mrs. Cross, as well as Mr. Cross, were always so nice when I cared for him as a nurse at the hospital there. I bought a truck from them in 1998 and Mrs. Cross was pleasant and cordial to me every time I was in the dealership. I know she will be missed by her loving family and the community. God bless you, her family, in your grief. Sincerely, Elizabeth Kyle
