Eugene Redlinger Obituary

Eugene Lee Redlinger (Geno) was born on August 5th, 1939, around Harper, IA. The son of Richard and Genevieve (Ruplinger) Redlinger. There will be a graveside service held at a later date. He graduated from Keota High School class of 1958, then went on to serve in the United States Army from 1964 until 1968 as a Private First Class stationed in Germany. He was employed at Selzer Werderitch Construction as a framer and trim carpenter for 35 years, retiring in 2004. Gene was well known for his avid gardening skills, which were admired and loved by all who knew him. In his free time, Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes play. In his younger years, he was in various pool leagues. Gene will be greatly missed by his longtime partner of 45 years, Cheryl (Gardner) Karr of Wellman, IA; his sons Richard (Dick) Redlinger of Washington, IA and Nathan Trier (Shar) of Keota, IA; stepchildren Mel Karr of Wellman, IA, Stacy (Shelly) Karr of Tiffin, IA; brother John (Paulette) Redlinger of Columbus City, IA; grandson Les (Haleigh) Redlinger, and Colton Slaubaugh; great-grandsons Tripp Redlinger, Ronan Redlinger, and several nieces , nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew John Redlinger. Condolences may be left at www.iowacremation.com under obituaries.
