GENEVIEVE E. WORKMAN Marshalltown Genevieve E. Workman, 96, of Marshalltown, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown. A private family graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Arrangements were entrusted to Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com. Genevieve was born Jan. 11, 1923, to Jesse and Pearl Moyer in rural Marshalltown. She attended Ferguson schools and graduated from high school in 1941. In November 1941, Genevieve was united in marriage to Max A. Workman of Marshalltown, where she spent her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary for many years, Ferguson Alumni, volunteer for the hospital gift shop, and an active longtime member of First Congregational Church of Marshalltown. Genevieve was a huge fan of basketball, as she played it herself for four years in high school. She attended many games and loved to watch the sport on TV. She loved having her family around and enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren when they were young. Genevieve is survived by her children, Roger (Linda) Workman of Marion, David (Sarah) Workman of Marshalltown and Jennifer (Scott Stalzer) Workman of Marshalltown; her grandchildren, Blake, Sadie and Kori; and great-grandchildren, Jessiah, Joslyn, Jaxson, Ella and Arya. In passing, she will be reunited with her husband, parents, two brothers, three sisters and infant grandson, Brett.
