Arthur Bruesewitz Obituary

Arthur M. Bruesewitz
Born: March 3, 1936
Died: March 23, 2024
Arthur M. Bruesewitz, age 88 of Plano, IL, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 23, 2024. He was born on March 3, 1936 in Marshfield, WI. He was the son of Wilmer and Vera (Brown) Bruesewitz.
Arthur was united in marriage on September 22, 1956 to Donna Bretthauer and they spent the next 67 years happily together. They spent most of their years raising a family in Plainfield, IL. and then retired to Plano, IL.
Art was retired from the Teamsters union the last 23 years. He was deeply involved in the Plainfield community. He served on the Planning commission, the Auxiliary police, the Plainfield volunteer fire dept., and administrated and coached many youth sports. He was a proud 46 year member of the Masonic Lodge.
Art was fun-loving and always ready with a witty retort. He loved spending summers fishing in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and his retirement years wintering on South Padre Island, TX.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Donna Bruesewitz of Plano IL: his son, Steve (Diana) Bruesewitz of Joliet, IL; his granddaughter, Megan (Jon) Brisbin of Morris, IL; special great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Rivera; his sisters, Janet Jones of Virginia and Bonnie Solfisburg of Yorkville IL; brother in-law Bud (Jackie) Bretthauer of Plano, IL: as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer and Vera; his step-father, Robert McCoy; his Mother and Father in-law, Cakey and Martha Bretthauer; his daughter, Diana Brisbin; his sister, Patricia (Harry) Moebs; in-laws, Ike and Wanda Eichelberger, Larry and Joyce Bretthauer, and Gary Solfisburg.
A private celebration of Art's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Arthur's name sent to Unity Hospice of Rochelle would be appreciated.
