Charles Miller Obituary

Charles Miller
Charles "Chuck" Miller, of Shorewood, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family. Chuck was born in Chicago, IL, on January 30, 1942, the son of the late Charles and Theresa (nee Smith) Miller. He grew up in the Canaryville neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, was a graduate of Chicago Vocational High School and received his Associates Degree from Wilson Community College. Chuck was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local Union #73 for 59 dedicated years.
Chuck was a devoted family man. He enjoyed going to the casino, traveling, and spending time with his family. He was an active member in the Shorewood Glen Community and was very involved with the many activities they offered. He volunteered whenever he was needed and was the co-chairman of the Bingo Committee. He made friends wherever he went however, the love he had for his family was what mattered the most to him. He was a member of The Holy Family Parish. He had a great sense of humor and loved a good laugh and trivia.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (nee Fogarty); his cherished children, Kimberly Ann Miller CPD and Charles "Dragon Alexander" Miller; he was a special "Papa" to Emily and Amy Shemash, his twin granddaughters that he loved so dearly. Marian and Johnny Hayes, his sister-and-brother-in-law/best friends with whom he shared many adventures and vacations, and a lifetime of laughter, he loved them like his own children. Also his sisters-in-law Catherine (Robert) Anderson, Linda (the late Gary) Fogarty, Janet (the late John) Fogarty and he held a close bond with his special nieces, Katie Hayes and Amy Anderson. Niece Kelli (Dean) Fugate was always helpful. He is also survived by one brother, John; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Charlene and Patricia.
