Age 82, of Custer Park, IL passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. Born August 12, 1940 in Aurora, IL to the late Albert J. and Magdalene (nee Pocus) Grivetti. Robert was raised and educated in Aurora, IL, graduating from West Aurora High School with the class of 1958. He was a maintenance mechanic for Commonwealth Edison retiring after twenty-nine years of employment. Member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood and Moose Lodge #967 in Morris, IL. He enjoyed fishing and took great pride in farming on the family farm. After retirement, he kept busy mowing grass for a local farmer. If you knew Robert, you knew he was happiest when he was riding a tractor. Surviving are his wife of sixty-one years, Geraldine (nee Smrekar) Grivetti, whom he married November 4, 1961 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet, IL; four children, Robert (Julie) Grivetti, Jr. of Braidwood, Jacqueline (Douglas) Dickison of Minonk, IL, Michaelanne (John) Faurot of Braidwood, and Leann Grivetti of Custer Park; eleven grandchildren, Matthew (Mindy) Grivetti, Hunter (Desiree) Grivetti, Robert and Dalton Dickison, Alyssa, Kaitlyn and Alexandrea Faurot, Amber Grivetti-Housman, Brittany (Dylan) Ackerman, Cody, and Eric Housman; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Kaden, Madison, and Alison Grivetti, Madden and Ryder Jadron, and one due to arrive in May; two brothers, Martin (Diane) Grivetti of CO and Albert (Mary) Grivetti of IA; sister-in-law, Carol Grivetti of Dekalb, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Donald Grivetti; and nephew, Mark Grivetti. Visitation for Robert will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood, Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 9:00-11:00a.m. Funeral services will immediately follow at Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Braidwood Lions Club would be appreciated.
