Floyd Hageman Obituary

Floyd Allen Hageman, 99, Remington, passed away at 7:43 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at White Oak Health Campus of Monticello.

He was born Nov. 16, 1923, in Benton County, to the late Julius and Hulda (Schlipf) Hageman.

Floyd's marriage of 59 years was to Marjorie L. Stockment on March 9, 1949, in Remington. She preceded him in death on Sept. 23, 2008.

Floyd was a lifelong farmer. He loved spending time outdoors tending to his crops. He enjoyed reading, learning new things and educating himself. He had an amazing memory and loved to recite poetry and quote philosophers. Floyd enjoyed music and old movies. He had a real enjoyment of life and was always curious about what the future held. Floyd never knew a stranger; they were all just friends he hadn't met yet.

Floyd will be remembered for his kind heart, his strong work ethic, and his loyalty and love for his family.

Surviving are his children, John (Jacque) Hageman, Monticello, Rex Hageman, West Lafayette, Kathy (Craig) Blume, Lafayette and Ann (John) Thurston, Remington. Also surviving are his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death with his wife and parents are his brothers, Eugene, LaVerne, Robert, Edwin, Harold, and Donald; two sisters, Esther Overbeck and Elizabeth Stevens; and a daughter-in-law, Janine.

Per Floyd's wishes, no services are planned.
