Julia McManus Obituary

Julia Ann McManus
1.31.1958 ~ 1.26.2025
It is with great sadness we share that our beloved Julie Ann of Rye Brook, New York, passed peacefully on January 26, 2025. She was predeceased by her devoted parents, Edward and Eleanor (nee Murray) and dear brother-in-law Kimball. Julie is survived by her immediate loving family, James, Regina, Edward and Eileen, her Aunt Julia, many cousins, extended family and friends.
Julie was the embodiment of love and service. Her authentic joyful spirit, gracious manner, natural curiosity and sweet smile were a magnet to everyone she met. She lived life with fierce determination to achieve her independence. Julie enjoyed a 25-year career working in the Recreation Dept. of the Jewish Guild for the Blind and gave thousands of hours with volunteering at St. John's Hospital and fundraising throughout Westchester County for the annual YAI Central Park 5K Challenge, for which she was often awarded as top fundraiser. Her genuine heart, motivation and selfless care for the greater good were irrepressible.
Julie loved life, whether it was going to work, traveling, making new friendships in retirement at the Rye Brook Community Center, daily walks, listening to music, dancing to the oldies, swimming at the beach, flower gardening, and cooking alongside her devoted brother "Eddie" as she called him. Julie was deeply loved by her family and will forever be cherished as our greatest gift and blessing.
A private service will be held at the Gate of Heaven, Hawthorne, New York with interment beside her family.
Psalm 116:15, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."

I never met Julie, but came to know her through her sister and my dear friend Eileen. I personally know how sad it is to lose a beloved sister much too soon. My sister was 59 when she passed into her spiritual life. The wonderful memories of and joyful times with Julie will forever be present in her family and friends. Rest in peace, Julie.
