Mark Hansen Obituary

Mark John Hansen
Mark John Hansen of Norwalk, CT, passed away at the age of 71 on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Norwalk Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mark's best friend and loving partner in life of 39 years, Diana Vandam, was by his side.
Born in Evergreen Park, IL, he was the son of the late H. Jack Hansen and the late Edwina (Kappes) Boffa. Mark was also predeceased by his sister, Gail Riley.
Mark graduated from Wilton High School and attended Western New England College. Over the years, Mark worked at various companies and positions, mainly in the automotive industry. He started his career at Electrolux as an Internal Auditor, where he met Diana.
Mark loved life and lived it well. Always up for an adventure, he and Diana enjoyed traveling, and he never saw a roller coaster he didn't want to tackle.
In his younger years, Mark loved skiing, playing cards (bridge, double solitaire, pinochle, or poker), offshore boat racing, and NASCAR. As the years passed, Mark was an avid gardener and took pride in his home vegetable garden; he looked forward to his walks on the beach in Sanibel and visiting with friends.
Mark was a devout Lutheran and loved to sing in the choir. He was a very active St. Michael's Lutheran Church member in New Canaan, CT.
He had nothing but kindness and caring thoughts in his heart. Up until the very end, his sense of humor held steadfast. His lighthearted demeanor earned him many close friends over the years.
We want to acknowledge with gratitude and thank the St. Vincent's Hospital Oncology team for all their Love and Support.
In addition to Diana, Mark is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Paul and Jacqui Lyons (MA), his sister and brother-in-law, Joe and Marilyn Roginski (CT), and many loving nieces and nephews.
His family will greet friends during the Visitation on Monday, June 16, at 10:30 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 5 Oenoke Ridge, New Canaan. Service will be at 11.
