Mildred Louise MacDonald died peacefully, with her husband by her side on October 1st 2022 at the age of 78.
Born in Bridgeport, CT on September 21, 1944, she was the daughter of the late John Allen and Mildred Allen (nee Scriven). Mildred was predeceased by her brother Frank Allen of Newtown.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard MacDonald Sr., daughter Christine (Michael) Grey and son Richard MacDonald Jr., along with granddaughters Mackenzie and Kylee Grey, all of Norwalk.
Mildred met her husband Richard while working at Deluxe Check Printers where they both made many lifelong friends. Immediately after retiring from Deluxe, both Mildred and Richard embarked on a cross-country trip enjoying the United States for a few weeks. Upon returning from their trip, Mildred enrolled in Katharine Gibbs College to further her education.
For the last 14 years, Mildred enjoyed the company of her two grand-daughters; Mackenzie and Kylee. They kept her busy while she attended school graduations, dance recitals, swim meets, a Young Astronaut mission, concerts and one could lose count on how many books were read over the years. Grammy will truly be missed!
Calling hours will be on Thursday, October 6th from 4-7 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. Service will be held on Friday, October 7th at 10 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home followed by a burial at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
