Robert Michek Obituary
Robert K. Michek, 77, husband of Pauline Michek of Norwalk passed away at his home surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
Born in Norwalk on October 21, 1946, he was the son of the late Edward and Anna Hazzard Michek.
In addition to his wife, of 56 years, Bob is survived by his children, Robert and David, grandchildren Amanda, and Ben, extended grandchildren Patrick and JR, niece Michelle Clark, husband Harry and their children, Evan, Anna, and Aaron, nephews Darryl, Edward and families, along with many cousins and dear friends. Bob is also survived by many extended children, whom he loved dearly at Pauline's daycare.
Following his time in the US Army, Bob worked at Nash engineering for over 30 years. He spent most of his life nurturing his love of music playing in bands, and Marching bands with his sons. He was the president of the NHS marching band, sharing his love of music with his family and close friends. Bob was also an avid boater and a 30 year member of the South Norwalk Boat Club.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 10, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 11, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church 203 East Avenue, Norwalk. Burial with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society and St. Thomas the Apostle Church.

The world lost a great guy this week. I can think of no one better to teach a landlubber from Pennsylvania the joys of picnicking, boating and fishing on Long Island Sound. It´s been a long time, but the hours spent with Bob trying to reduce the Bluefish population followed by picnicking with Pauline and the boys remain etched in my memory. My sincere condolences to all who will miss him.

Played in the Nash Fife and Drum corps with the Micheks, back in the day. I always talked cars with Bob, especially the chevy Malibu and the SS Chevy models. Bob and I always had a lot to talk about when we saw each other. Nash, cars, music and our crazy years. " The rain shall fall upon his grave, the tears of a grateful nation and all who knew him. " See you on the other side ".

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Marched in the Nash Drum Corps with him. He was an accomplished musician with a great sense of humor. Always enjoyed his company.
